Artificial Casings



Yield calculation, deviations, standardization of stuffing, maturation, cooking and packing processes, are required for big scale production. Artificial casings provide certain calibre, lack of discards, high mechanical resistance and stable conditions of elasticity and permeability.

FIBRAN
casings come from beef leather collagen, hardened through hygienically controlled processes. This kind of casings are offered in four main types: Straight, Rounded, Colex and Edicas.


FIBRAN S.1.
This is FIBRAN's greatest specialty and designed for air dried sausages like cured meats, chorizo, Iberian cured loin, fuet sausage, salami, etc. This type of casing is strong and elastic, with a permeable quality that assists the curing process adjusted to the shrinking of the meat stuffed.

PRESENTATION:
• rolls of 300-700m, depending on the caliber
• bundles of 20m

HANDLING:
Before use, soak in water at a temperature of 20-22ºC with 10 to 15% of ordinary salt during 10 to 30 minutes, depending on the caliber of the casing (sewed casings must be filled under less presure).
FIBRAN N.F.
This type is thicker and stronger and slightly less elastic and porous than the S.1. grade.

Round
0 24-60 mm.

• sticks of 20 m up to a diameter of 120 mm.

These casings have a balanced ammount of humidity, and can therefore be used directly without previous soaking.
